About us

Relaxed Flexibility and Soft Strength and constant inquiry into your own yoga journey

The Blue Moon Yoga Studio is in the village of Springwood, within the Blue Mountains, Australia.  The studio is a small and friendly place where you get personalised attention in a small group setting.

Greg Brady is the yoga teacher.  He is an accredited teacher with a Teacher Training Course Diploma from the International Yoga Teacher’s Association and an Advanced Yoga Studies Certificate with Donna Farhi (a teacher of teachers) and studied meditation under Anandakumar (an international teacher with Satyananda Yoga).

Greg has taught Hatha yoga for over 20 years in the local area presenting a down-to-earth approach to practicing and living yoga.  He now teaches a mixture of Hatha, Raja and Jnana Yoga.

A large part of his teaching is for you to achieve a practicing knowledge of the underlying principles of physical yoga.  This applies just as much “on the mat” as well as your day-to-day living.  He also encourages a western enquiry of understanding of yoga and how its application, without trying to adopt cultural aspects of traditional yoga that are not applicable in our culture.

He encourages a pragmatic way of being and thinking about yoga. This is to see yoga as a process of change, or as a process of enhancing your maturity and wisdom.  For you, this starts out at wanting to positively influence various aspects of your physical abilities and health. Interestingly and often surprisingly, this will lead to a process of effortless transformation, making positive differences in how you see yourself and others.

When done regularly, yoga can keep you healthy. It can aid in the recovery from illness and pain; and it can discourage disease. It can also provide greater mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall wellness. The only requirements to learn yoga are proper instruction from a qualified and knowledgeable teacher and a steady practice.

For those considering yoga:

  • you do not need to be in touch with your inner self,
  • you do not need to adopt another culture, (or the trappings of another culture),
  • you do not need be, or become spiritual or religious.
  • you do want to improve yourself, physically, mentally, emotionally and your attitude towards yourself and those around you.

For those who do have experience with yoga there is plenty of opportunity to develop your practice further, as it is a lifelong process.  When you realise that the practice of yoga is not separate to yourself, and significantly more than just postures and looking good, then your journey truly begins and develops into a deeper level.

The number of students in a class are limited to 8 so that more personal attention is given to enhance your practice.
