Back/Shoulder Care Class

This class is a one-on-one class.

The intent of the Back/Shoulder Care Class is to:

Firstly: Give a much gentler version of the Beginners/Foundation Class to particularly strengthen and make the back, shoulders and neck (and whole body) more flexible and relaxed,

Secondly: To learn and recognise the difference between good and bad back pain (for those not in chronic pain)

Thirdly: Looking at your lifestyle, as this will probably be one of the main contributory causes of your non-chronic back pain, if you do not have clear structural or disease issues,

Fourthly: To learn what to do and not to do for lifting loads.

Nearly everybody has had a painful back during their lives, and some people unfortunately have chronic back pain. This class is not a remedial class for those with chronic back pain, unless your principal health professional believes a physical class will aid you.

For those who do not have chronic pain many of us do not recognise that back pain is often a natural process reacting to an activity that is different to your daily routine.

Knowing and understanding the causes of pain and what to mitigate or avoid, and more importantly how to develop and keep a healthy back (and hence your whole body) is often liberating in its own right. This minimises making back pain into an apparent medical issue.

Attendance is by appointment only at a time to suit us both. The class goes for an hour.

If you are wondering, the photograph is an actual building in a delightful seaside town in Poland.  And it is not “wobbly” inside.
